There weren’t any major controversies this year (nothing compared to Ahmadinejad, the hunger strikers, and the Minutemen), so the band had nothing to write except sex jokes and Obama. Sure, there were laughs. But last year’s was better.

barnard jokes are only as offensive as you allow them to be…without taking them personally they’re pretty laughable. i can enjoy a joke about blow jobs, but honey i KNOW i’m not giving any more blow jobs than the next columbia girl.

Where was the homophobia you speak of? Or the racism? The sexism I will grant you, though I would note that one of the primary writers for CUMB is female. It’s more making fun of barnard than making fun of women. But it’s certainly not malicious. Don’t get mad, get even!

And no, “blow me, you go to barnard” isn’t clever. Thankfully they didn’t use that one :-P
