Overheard: Brutal Honesty

Could have been worse.

Two guys in John Jay, getting silverware:

Guy 1: Are you saying you’re smarter than me?

Guy 2: *shrugs* A little bit, yeah.

As Mencken wrote, “It is hard to believe that a man is telling the truth when you know that you would lie if you were in his place.”
