Nixon the skate, snow, and surf lifestyle brand that is. You can join forces with them by purchasing one of these dorky Beastie Boy themed watches. Proceeds from sales of the “Time Teller” (retailing at $85) will be donated to Columbia’s radio station, WKCR. Apparently the Beastie Boys chose the radio station as the beneficiary of the collaboration, but no reason is given beside the fact that the band is from New York. Small world huh? We’re eagerly waiting on a comment from the WKCR peeps about how and why this mysterious marketing maneuver has been arranged.

Update (6/6): Ellen Walkington, Publicity Director of WKCR, confirmed the story. She says that “the WKCR Board of Directors is thrilled and thankful for this generous contribution.” Apparently the Beastie Boys have been listening to the station for years, and frequently call into DJ Phil Schaap’s jazz shows. We can only guess that the unconventional grammar and phrasing of Nixon’s marketing campaign are particular to the Californian “youth lifestyle market.”

From the website: The watches come in a maritime themed package, which is unlike anything the Nixon line has ever seen before, and feature an image of Mike D along with a special message from him on both the watchband and case.
