A portentous omen or the graffiti of a mischievous trickster?

The eighth floor of Butler is most commonly viewed among Columbia’s undergraduate population as Butler’s wasteland—private graduate student carrels line the hall like sepulchers, screaming uniformity and academic browbeating. But while the finer advantages of Butler 8 may not include earning precious Butler social capital, precocious grad students—and perhaps some adventurous undergraduates—voice their frustration by inscribing marginalia upon the padded carrel cells. Once again, Late Night Bwog™ reveals more mysteries of Butler Library—the place which we all like to think we know like the back of our overworked hands.
