Happening in the World: In Brazil, far-right Jair Bolsonaro will face the left-wing Workers’ Party candidate, Fernando Haddad for presidency. Mr Bolsonaro, a Catholic, won the support of many evangelical Christians by saying he would defend traditional family values. He has also won over many Brazilians who think his law-and-order stance will make Brazil safer.

Happening in the US: Melania Trump, while touring Egypt, is in a video in which she states she supports Brett Kavanaugh’s confirmation as Supreme Justice, and that she does not always support her husband’s tweets.

Happening in NYC: Mayor Bill de Blasio was caught on camera on Thursday brushing off a homeless woman who confronted him at a Brooklyn gym and interrupted his stretching routine to demand housing reform. He replied, “I’m in the middle of doing my workout. I’m sorry. I can’t do this now.”

Happening on Campus: There will be the first part of a three-session workshop at Lerner Hall in the Counseling & Psychological Services’ Conference Room on the 8th floor called “Enhancing Your Relationship: A Workshop for Couples.” The sessions will provide practical tools for couples who wish to strengthen their relationship, including understanding relational expectations and beliefs, how to nurture the positives in the relationship, and
how to improve problem-solving ability and communication skills.
