@Stephen I’m glad Bwog is doing so well. There was a big gaping hole in my heart after cucommunity.com and campusnetwork.com shutdown. I was miserable, Adam Goldberg just laughed as he axed the sites.

@moph so the reason wkcr, ddc, the spec, the yearbook, and student government have offices, is that they had offices in the old student center, and so their needs were taken into account in building the new space. that’s an interesting thought–i just wish that someone at the time had come up with a better plan for the 250-odd other clubs…
@independence? Meanwhile, the Blue and White is almost completely funded by the University as a student club, so can someone please tell me why we’re bitching about the Spec?
Also, speaking of journalistic standards… way to go CTV. In general it would be much more interesting to interview more than two random students who just say “yeah the bwog is really cool” – that told me a LOT about this site I didn’t already know…

@fair and balanced c’mon, more credible than the spec? the spec caters to bureaucracy? give me a break. they’ve been independent for decades. it would be have been interesting to have the spec editor comment on the bwog’s success.
@Hm Hmm... The Spectator maintains its ‘independence’ by having the University purchase almost every one of its issues each day. Discuss.
@la la also, the spec gets its sweet-ass office subsidized by columbia.
@mat The justification for the school’s subsidy of Spec is actually quite legitimate: they had an office in the old Ferris; Ferris got torn down; Columbia was/is right to compensate them and give them a new office. Moreover, if, hypothetically, the school cut its support tomorrow, the Spec could probably survive on increased ad selling/alumni help. My only quibble is I wish the process by which the Spec gets subsidized could be made a bit more transparent, by the Spec, to its readers. I think if we all knew more about, we’d realize it makes sense.

@Lies Get this: Katia Sol (or however it’s spelled) isn’t even her real name! And the reason the sound is terrible, is because Kwame was the head of CTV, and he pissed of the guy who controls the Cable, so he turned the feedback all way or something, forever destroying CTV’s ability to have good sound (or until Kwame graduates anyways).
