The Friday Sports Roundup Returns!

Written by

It’s a new season, and with the new season comes the return of the Friday Sports Roundup, where Bwog summarizes the past week’s sports scores (this week, to be honest, there aren’t that many), and looks ahead to the weekend for the Light Blue.

Football: Football does not begin its season until next weekend (at Fordham), but the Ivy League pre-season poll is out, with the Lions tied for sixth with Cornell.

Men’s Soccer: Men’s soccer began its season last week with tough road losses to nationally-ranked ACC opponents, 2-1 to Duke and 1-0 to N.C. State. They play their last away game before a month-long homestand tomorrow against Long Island University.

Field Hockey: Field Hockey began its season last week with a 4-0 loss at home to Richmond, but looks to rebound against Bucknell, tomorrow at 1 p.m. at the Baker Athletics Complex.

Volleyball: After going 1-2 at the UNC Wilmington Invitational, the volleyball team hosts Marist, Quinnipiac, Stony Brook, and Iona for the Columbia Invitational, today and tomorrow in the Levien Gym.

Cross Country: The men’s and women’s teams begin their seasons at the Binghamton Invitational.

Men’s Tennis: Men’s Tennis starts its season this weekend at the Virginia Invitational at the University of Virginia.

Women’s Golf: The women’s golf team starts its fall schedule at Bucknell’s Lady Bison Fall Classic.

Tsk tsk, bwog. Men's soccer has a misplaced modifier. Sounds like they're playing a month-long homestand against LIU.
