Achieve Eternal Glory—Audition for the Varsity Show

Written by

For the 118th time in Columbia’s illustrious history, the Varsity Show is holding auditions for singers, dancers, actors, and generally talented students to participate in (you guessed it), the Varsity Show! This oldest of Columbia performing arts traditions has featured many famous alums in its day, including Rodgers and Hammerstein and more recently, Jenny Slate (the voice behind Marcel the Shell). So if you want to be a part of history, this is your chance!

Would-be theatrical superstars are advised to head over to Hamilton Hall tonight, Wednesday, or Thursday night from 8 to 11 pm prepared with 16 bars of a musical theater song. Sides will be provided.

Is there an archive or some public domain where we can watch old Varsity shows. I must admit in my four years at CU I definitely did not attend any of the shows >.< I only remember a preview for prefrosh I attended as a freshy.

It would be nice to see some of the old productions, since they pretty much capture the culture and the major events of the year XD

There are DVDs via the website, though only going back to 110 (109 is on DVD as well, but there are too few copies to sell). They're $20 each. You can also listen to the cast recordings as well and download them for free.

Also the Library has a copy of the final book for all 117 shows.

The website sells DVDs from 110 on upwards (V109 is on DVD but there are only like 2 copies left/used for reference by Creative). You can however listen to the cast recordings and download them for free.

The Library also has a copy of every final book for each year.
