ESC: Open Secrets, City Permits, and Public Course Evaluations

Written by

Party on the block

Sean Zimmermann reports from last night’s ESC meeting.

The council has begun uploading agendas and council member attendance records to the ESC website. VP Communications Jim Huang explained that this will enable students to keep up with the council’s plans and allow students to check that their representatives are not slacking off.

The council announced that the “block party” event thrown by the councils will not be held on Broadway, as getting the street fair permit from the city is taking too long. The council will likely hold the large-scale free food event on Low Plaza.

The University Senate will discuss making course evaluations public during their plenary session next week. ESC Senator Tim Qin reports that the measure already has some support.
