We Know What You’re Doing This Summer

Written by

New York Magazine took a look into the college student’s most beloved/despised summer activity: the internship!  The magazine’s interns surveyed 100 other interns around NYU, FIT, and Columbia.  Our own CC 2013 president (and up-and-coming rapper) Ryan Mandelbaum, Max Bartick, Erin Flynn, and Anogie Joseph-Erameh  are photographed alongside other Columbians.

this is your brain on internship

Have a sexytime-esque encounter with this graphic

Think you had more menial tasks than the ones in the picture?  Complain about it in the comments.

I think I can top those "most menial tasks." At my internship last summer, I sat in a room and shredded papers eight hours a day for two weeks straight. For the two weeks after that, I stood at a copier and scanned different papers. For eight hours a day. Two weeks straight. After that, I'm pretty sure they ran out of papers for me to do things with, so they just let me sit at a computer and dick around on the internet all day. The strangest part is, thinking back, I think I preferred the shredding and scanning to the mind-numbing dullness of accomplishing literally nothing.

I'm making like 18k this summer. But my real compensation will be in hot white girls who will lick my frenulum upon learning my earning potential. Not! Fuck free-loading gold diggers / prostitutes.

stop complaining about your meaningless internships and try to find something useful. i've interned since freshman summer and always did interesting stuff. ok, my first one was unpaid but then I actually made some real money. get some skills, ppl.
