Everyone around me (including me, FML) is sick with a cold of some sort. Is this actually the flu?

Dear Bwog is not Alice but,

The short answer is probably not. Best way to know is to review the symptoms of a true flu vs the common cold - http://goaskalice.columbia.edu/do-i-have-cold-or-flu. If you are looking for more information, there are more than three dozen Q&As in our cold & flu section on Go Ask Alice! - http://goaskalice.columbia.edu/category/59.

One more thing to consider - it's still fall allergy season. Sometimes allergies result in symptoms not unlike those of a cold.

Hope this helps and thanks for thinking of us!

    Alice!
