Emma Stein

Valentine’s Day approacheth! Today’s Columbians looking for love are Emma Stein, Joe Girton, and Schermerhorn Hall. If you want to take any one of these awesome humans/ buildings on a date, email us and we’ll set it up (and give you ten whole dollars to take ‘em out). If you don’t, we still think you deserve a shot at love. Fill out our short questionnaire and send a picture to personals@bwog.com and the face to the right could be yours.

Name, Year, School, Major: Emma Stein, CC ’14, English and Business Management

Preference: gal for guy

Hometown: Short Hills, NJ

Your nightmare date in seven words or fewer: “You’re OK if I live tweet this?”

What redeems you as a human being? Your mom will love me.

Library room of choice: Started from the bottom (209), now we here (Ref).

Beverage of choice: Coffee + the 3 w’s (whiskey, woodchuck, and water)

Guilty Pleasure Song: Either old school Britney (Lucky) or I’ll Make a Man Out of You from Mulan. Actually my entire running playlist could probably feature here.

Where can you usually be found on a Saturday night? On line: 1020, Kornet’s, Netflix — take your pick.

Historical Hottie: Christopher Marlowe. When you’re writing a thesis on a person, you better think they’re pretty hot.

Joe Girton

Name, Year, School, Major: Joe Girton, CC ’14, Sustainable Development with a hobby in Comp Sci

Preference: Dude for dude

Hometown: Los Angeles, CA

Your nightmare date in seven words or fewer: “Morton Williams is my favorite supermarket.”

What redeems you as a human being? No, what redeems YOU as a human being? (I’m a great listener).

Library room of choice: Depending on my in-the-moment ambition level, either the ref room or Grounded on Jane St.

Beverage of choice: Tangerine Emergen-C followed by a very dirty Tito’s martini, up, 3 olives.

Guilty Pleasure Song: Lucky Love 2009 by Ace of Base. 2009 was good.

Where can you usually be found on a Saturday night? Either watching Scandal with cheap pinot grigio or slurping some broth at Jin Ramen.

Historical Hottie: Robert Moses. SO MANY PARKWAYS, SO MUCH POWER.

Schermerhorn Hall, via WikiCU

Name, Year, School, Major: Schermerhorn Hall, CC ‘1840, wrote down “natural sciences” on the app but forever undecided between EEEB, African-American Studies, Anthro, and Women’s/Gender Studies.

Preference: Brick, concrete, marble, don’t matter to me!

Hometown: New York, NY

Your nightmare date in seven words or fewer: “I like to keep things simple.”

What redeems you as a human being building? I’m complicated—enigmatic, even. Some say that my complexity makes me difficult, but I prefer to think of myself as a challenge—a challenge that takes multiple visits to truly understand. Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself. (I am large, I contain multitudes…of departments.) Prepare to get lost in me.

Library room of choice: The Geology Library, of course.

Beverage of choice: Long Island Iced Tea.

Guilty pleasure song: “Virtual Insanity” — Jamiroquai

Where can you usually be found on a Saturday night? Curled up with my best friend Mudd (we’re basically inseparable), watching A Beautiful Mind on repeat.

Historical Hottie: Susan Sontag. Unf.
