We don’t wanna look

“When you play the game of Columbia Housing, you win or you die.” —Cersei Lannister

Whether or not you’re ready for it, Housing 2014 approaches. Lottery numbers are now up, which would probably explain why half of your floor is already crying. If you haven’t yet looked at your number, take a few moments to enjoy your blissful ignorance. Finish your reading, take a few deep breaths, and tell your friends that you love them before you descend into bickering chaos over kitchens and hardwood floors. If you have found out the number, you’re probably feeling the cold sense of dread settle into the pit of your stomach. Don’t worry—this feeling of utter helplessness is normal.

Expect a post soon that will help you interpret how dire or amazing your housing situation is. Remember, the numbers go from 1-3000. Lower is better. Higher is worse. Not every number is used, and the size of your group does not affect the number you receive. As for the point system, 10 means rising sophomore, 20 for rising juniors, 30 for rising seniors, and groups’ shared point values are averaged based on those.
