Did you spend NYE in Times Square? We sure as hell didn’t.
Welcome to a new spring semester, Columbia! Although we’re already a few weeks into the new year, Bwog thought we’d do a comprehensive review of what Columbia will be leaving behind in 2016— as well as what we’re hoping to jump into in 2017. New year, new Columbia.
What we did leave behind in 2016:
Our mental health.
Those big plush chairs outside of Ferris.
A Columbia grad in the White House.
Undeveloped Manhattanville wasteland.
Jamba Juice in JJ’s.
What we should leave behind in 2016:
The wrestling team.
The Bacchanal barriers.
The smoking ban.
The Barnard sign-in policy.
What we’re hoping to jive with in 2017:
The First Amendment.
Bigger classes, smaller waitlists.
A permanent quesadilla station in Ferris.
Ice cream cookie sandwiches.
Free laundry at Barnard.
A fall Bacchanal.
JJ’s Cool Zone.
The phrase “that’s just how the cookie crumbles.”
Going to that cool library at TC with the treadmills.
More Joe Biden motorcade sightings.
Columbia as a sanctuary campus.
The class of 2017.
The class of 2021.
