Happening in the World: Magawa the ‘Hero Rat’ has been given a gold medal by the People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals, a British veterinary charity. This talented African giant pouch has been trained by the Anti-Persoonsmijnen Ontmijnende Product Ontwikkeling (APOPO), or Anti-Personnel Landmines Detection Product Development in English. Magawa has found 39 landmines and 28 other unexploded materials, clearing nearly 35 acres of land from explosives. Good job, Magawa! (CNN)

Happening in the US: Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg became the first woman and first Jewish person to lie in state in the United States Capitol yesterday. Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and members of Congress visited to honor Justice Ginsburg. Her personal trainer, Bryant Johnson, paid tribute to her memory by doing push-ups in front of her casket. Happening in NYC: Yesterday was the third consecutive day NYC residents showed up in protest after the three officers involved were not directly charged in association with Breonna Taylor’s death. Protestors blocked off the entrance of and walked across the Brooklyn Bridge last night. Protestors also gathered at the Maria Hernandez Park and the Barclays Center. (Spectrum News NY 1)
