New York City is packed with amazing culture and inspiring art, but sometimes it’s difficult to break the Morningside-bubble and experience it all first-hand. “Where Art Thou” is a weekly guide to interesting and notable lectures, events, and performances for the literary/musically/theatrically-inclined on campus.

On Campus:

  • Tomorrow at 6 in Schapiro Lounge, join the CU Players for A (February) Play Reading, an evening of reading plays by playwrights of non-dominant identities. Food & drink provided.
  • Next Saturday, March 2 in Roone, see Columbia TAAL’s dance group perform Naach Nation XVII with other fusion dance groups. This year’s event will donate its proceeds to Sapna NYC.
  • Register now for Richard Axel and Sarah Sze: Neuroscience, Art, and the Construction of Reality on Thursday at the Lenfest Center. It’s a conversation between Neuroscientist Axel and artist Sze about the the pheremone circuits that manifest reality.

Off Campus:

  • Get $11 student tickets through the TIC for Tomoyasu Murata: Stop Motion Master, a three-day showing of the “tender, whimsical and mysterious” work of Japanese filmmaker Tomoyasu Murata. The eight films will be shown on Saturday at the Japan Society, East 47th Street.
