Barnard has made flu vaccines free to all students, regardless of insurance plan.
Barnard recently announced that flu vaccines, which are mandatory this year, will be free to students regardless of their insurance plan. Previously, vaccines were only guaranteed to be free for students on student Aetna insurance.
A Barnard spokesperson said that this change is in part due to the fact that vaccination is mandatory this year. Last year, when the vaccine was also mandatory for all students, it was also free to all students. The spokesperson said that students who paid for the flu vaccine this year have been reimbursed, and students who submitted claims for their insurance should check to see if they are reimbursed or not.
Walk-in appointments for flu vaccines are not currently available for Barnard students, but they can schedule a time to receive their mandatory vaccinations by calling (212) 854-2091.
