Happening in the US: During a speech in Orlando, Florida, former Vice-President Mike Pence rejected former President Donald Trump’s claims that Pence could have overturned the results of the 2020 election. Pence also told a crowd in California that it was “un-American” to insinuate that a singular person could decide the outcome of an election. This comes after Trump stated that a recent bipartisan effort to revise the counting of electoral votes by Congress was proof Pence could have changed the results of the 2020 election. (CNN)
Happening in NYC: Early voting has opened in New York City for two-state legislature special elections. Citizens in the 60th Assembly District in Brooklyn and the 72nd Assembly District in Manhattan can cast their early ballots until Sunday, February 13. The actual election will be held on Tuesday, February 15. (Gothamist)
