Last week’s highlights and upcoming competitions for the week of January 17.

Highlights:

No. 2 ranked Men’s Fencing swept their competition 5–0 at the Penn State Invitational, maintaining their status as number two and putting pressure on their upcoming first-ranked rivals Notre Dame.

Nick Babin (CC ’24), wrestling at 125 lbs, defeated Oklahoma State’s No. 16 Trevor Mastrogiovanni to claim the Eastern Intercollegiate Wrestling Association’s Wrestler of the Week.

Women’s Swimming demolished five of Cornell’s pool records as they won the dual 169–126. Olivia Jubin (CC ’23) took home records in the 1000m and 500m free while Karen Liu (CC ’23) claimed Big Red pool records in the 200m butterfly and 100m breaststroke. Additionally, Columbia’s 200m medley relay squad posted a time of 1:42.39 to earn the Lions their fifth pool record of the meet.
