Always say hi to people in the elevator!

Name, School, Major, Hometown: Haley, Barnard, Psychology, Kelso, WA

Claim to fame: Will always leave the function early with no regrets.

Where are you going? University of Iowa.

What are three things you learned at Columbia and would like to share with the Class of 2028?

1. Say hi in the elevator (or risk not meeting your best friend).

2. Sometimes you have to choose to have fun.

3. College can look however you want. Gravitate towards what makes you happy and not what you think you should be doing.

“Back in my day…” Classes were remote and my earliest class was at 5 am (booooo!).

Favorite Columbia lore? I learned like a week ago that Kesha went to Barnard. Mind blown!

What was your favorite class at Columbia? Drugs and Behavior with Carl Hart.

Would you rather give up oral sex or cheese? I can see it now, my future employers typing “Haley, Barnard College” into Google!

Whom would you like to thank? In no particular order: Bronwyn, my ‘plimpchella’ elevator best friend who showed me that I could fit in here. Stella, who always understands me and is the only person I can rely on to keep me up to date with anything Taylor Swift related. Carly, the most empathetic and truly kind friend I’ve ever had.

One thing to do before graduating? Gain the confidence to leave any function early if you’re not having a good time anymore.

Any regrets? Truthfully, no. Anything I think of as a regret likely led me right to where I am.
