Live Call with the International Space Station 

  • Friday, October 25, 11 am to 12:30 pm, location to be announced.
  • Join Columbia Space Initiative for a live call with astronaut Don Pettit, who is currently aboard the International Space Station! An introduction will be given by professor and former astronaut Michael Massimino.

Undergraduate Research Symposium

  • Friday, October 25, 10:30 am to 12 pm, Roone Arledge Auditorium.
  • Support your friends and fellow undergraduates as they present their summer research at the annual Undergraduate Research Symposium! Attendees can vote on the best poster across disciplines and learn more more about undergraduate research opportunities.

Bollinger Convening: Journalism and Democracy in an AI World

  • Thursday, October 24, 6 to 7:30 pm, The Forum Auditorium.
  • Attend a special panel with former Columbia University President Lee Bollinger, former Prime Minister of Iceland Katrín Jakobsdóttir, and other international experts. The panelists will discuss how big businesses and generative AI have impacted the accuracy of journalism and the information available to electorates around the world.

Africa’s Fashion Diaspora Symposium

  • Friday, October 25, 10 am to 5 pm, Katie Murphy Amphitheatre in the Fred P. Pomerantz Art and Design Center.
  • Take a trip downtown to FIT’s 32nd symposium, Africa’s Fashion Diaspora. The event will explore histories, networks, and industries led by Black designers who are shaping fashion culture today. Barnard Associate Professor of Africana Studies Tamara J. Walker will give a talk titled “Diasporic Design in Colombia” at 2:15 pm.
