Happening in the US: President Joe Biden plans to announce that the US will contribute $4 billion to COVAX, an international alliance trying to distribute COVID-19 vaccines to low-income countries. (NPR)
Happening in NYC: Members of the New York State Legislature have introduced a bill to strip Governor Andrew Cuomo of some of the emergency powers they granted him early in the pandemic; several senators have even discussed impeaching him. The move comes after a report from Attorney General Letitia James that Cuomo attempted to cover up the number of deaths in nursing homes due to COVID-19. (Gothamist)
