New York City is packed with amazing culture and inspiring art, and now that so much of it is online for free, there’s never been a better time to experience it first-hand. “Where Art Thou” is a weekly guide to interesting and notable lectures, events, and performances for the literary/musically/theatrically-inclined.

Columbia Arts Events:

• On March 17 at 5 pm in room 423 in the Milstein Center, the Barnard Archives and Special Collections will be unveiling the new exhibition WORDY featuring the multimedia art and books by New York activist Sabra Moore.
• The Kit Noir Film Festival at the Lenfest Center will be continuing virtually on March 19 and 20 with a screening of the 1959 noir Odds Against Tomorrow.

Athena Film Festival:

The Athena Film Festival will be continuing all week at Barnard with virtual and in-person movie screenings, short film collections, and panels and discussions. We have selected a few upcoming events but you can view the full list of offerings here.

• On March 13 at 12 pm in the Diana Event Oval, there will be an in-person screening of Exposure, a film focusing on “ten novice women explorers from the Arab World and the West…who embark on a physically and emotionally demanding journey toward true north.” The film will be followed by a panel on The Impacts of Climate Change on Everyday Life as a part of the Barnard Alfred P. Sloan STEM Showcase.
• The Lehman Auditorium will be hosting Shorts Program III on March 13 at 3 pm and will feature the films Change the Name, Susana, Tarcila: Indigenous Solutions to Climate Change from Peru, Black Goat, To the Future, with Love, It’s Very Common, and Black Birth.
