  • Join CMTS for their annual Dream Role Cabaret! Performers will be able to sing any song from any musical (the only rule is that it represents their dream role). If you’d like to perform, you can sign up as an individual or a group.

On Dante and Lorenzo Da Ponte (Worldwide Week of the Italian Language)

  • It’s Worldwide Week of the Italian Language! This particular event celebrates the 200-year anniversary of the first professorship of Italian established at Columbia University, assigned to Lorenzo Da Ponte. It will feature a talk with Barbara Faedda and Teodolinda Barolini to discuss the cultural legacy of Da Ponte, Dante, and The Italian Academy.

Sarah Tarlow Talk: “Archaeology, Life Writing and Radical Honesty”

  • Friday, November 7, 4:10 to 6 pm, Schermerhorn Extension, Room 951.
  • Sarah Tarlow, Professor Emerita of Historical Archaeology at the University of Leicester, will discuss the intersection of life writing and academic writing. She will read from her own memoir, The Archaeology of Loss, which connects her expertise as an archaeologist specializing in death and burial with her personal experience of caring for her ailing husband.
