Have a great first day back at school, everyone!

Happening in the World: Prince Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, have announced they are stepping back from their roles as senior members of the English royal family. UK media outlets have shown Harry getting off a plane in Vancouver Island earlier this morning. The family plans on leaving their permanent residence in England to live in Canada. (Washington Post)

Happening in the US: The New York Times endorsed two candidates for the first time in history: Amy Klobuchar and Elizabeth Warren. (New York Times)

Happening in NYC: Antonio Litman, the owner of the charity Virginia’s House of Hope, was found dead in the foyer of his building around 3 AM yesterday in Brooklyn. His body was discovered while authorities were responding to a fire on the first floor. Litman was found amongst the flames with four stab wounds to his neck. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing. (NBC New York)

Happening on Campus: It’s the first day of school for the week, the year, and the decade. Good luck this semester, Columbia!
