ESC’s last General Body Meeting of the semester was quick and under-attended.

The meeting got off to a late start as council leadership waited in hopes of getting a quorum. The council was striving to have a quorum (at least ⅔ of the council members present), because one is needed to pass resolutions, and the council has to vote on the proposal condemning antisemitism that was brought forth several weeks ago.

Since a quorum was not reached, the meeting proceeded with updates from council members. Student Body President Kennedy Salamat (‘23) attended a Committee on Instruction meeting where she presented the updated P/D/F policy which was passed this week. She congratulated the council on successfully getting this measure passed and noted that it could help relieve some finals stress for students.

The Class of 2022 council shared that their recent Senior Pub night was a success, and they are planning similar events for the spring semester. Its members also noted that more dates will be made available for senior portraits.

The Class of 2025 council will be hosting a gingerbread house decorating event in Carman this weekend.

After these updates, the meeting ended early. As council members trickled out of the Zoom call, there was also a brief informal discussion of tightening meeting attendance policies so in the future there would be no issues establishing a quorum.
