Happening in the World: Jean-Luc Brunel, an associate of sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, has been found dead in his Paris prison cell. Brunel had been in the prison for more than a year on suspicion of child trafficking. (BBC)

Happening in the US: Police officer Kim Potter has been sentenced to two years in prison for the killing of Daunte Wright. Potter killed Wright during a traffic stop after allegedly mistaking her gun for her taser, resulting in Potter being convicted of manslaughter in December. (BBC)

Happening in NYC: Governor Kathy Hochul’s administration has dropped the proposed requirement that all healthcare workers receive a COVID-19 booster shot. While the requirement was supposed to go into effect on February 21, the New York State Department of Health announced they would wait at least another three months before reconsidering whether to enforce it.
