Happening in the World: The flagship of Russia’s Black Sea fleet has sank after a Ukrainian missile caused severe damages to the structural integrity of the vessel. According to the Russian defense ministry, the Moskva was in process of being towed when stormy seas caused the ship to sink. Kyiv, however, has claimed ownership to the attack, issuing a public statement that Ukraine-made Neptune missiles were responsible for halting the naval invasion. (BBC)
Happening in the US: According to a release from the state’s cannabis regulatory commission, New Jersey will begin the sale of recreational cannabis starting April 21st. The commission will issue distribution licenses to seven alternative treatment centers and 13 retail dispensaries while continuing to review and process licensing applications. (CNN)
Happening in NYC: The New York Mets will play their home opener at Citi Field today at 1:10 pm. The stadium boasts new renovations that it hopes to show off on Opening Day, which conveniently coincides with the 75th anniversary of Jackie Robinson’s major league debut. (Gothamist)
