FWOC = First Week Of Classes.
Today is the first Monday of the school year. That means we’ve survived one, long week of courses. For me, the best way to get through it—to motivate yourself to get through another week and do your readings and contact professors—is with music.
Luckily, Bwog enjoyed many classic “Rock Star” moments this week:
- Was obliterated every single night (Wednesday through Saturday). By some miracle was not hungover a single morning.
- Found and rescued a rocketship balloon from eternal abandonment at Riverside Park.
- Had an exclusively positive interaction with Columbia Housing. (It is possible!!!).
- Got 2 plants for my dorm room so I am no longer depressed.
- Went to the WKCR concert and got a pillowcase screen-printed.
- Fulfilled my freshman year dream of throwing an EC party.
- Downloaded $400 worth of textbooks for free.
Bwog also suffered through some “Sad, Beautiful, Tragic” times:
- Computer got a virus after downloading textbooks for free.
- Made the worst fucking soup of my life. (I’m so sad)
- Went to the dining hall thinking I had registered for a dining plan. I had not!
- Got extremely, extremely sunburned at Club Fair.
- I cannot use half of my mouth because I have two gnarly canker sores on my tongue.
- Walked by MANY spotted lantern moth (or whatever they’re called) carcasses on campus. Couldn’t stop gagging.
- Cried on the EC bridge after spilling all loose cans of off-brand White Claws.
- Fainted (and recovered).
You’re people. You know that life has ups and downs—clearly. So it’s not really reassuring or necessary for me to wish that you had a totally great first week of classes. Bwog hopes you had a first week of classes that was best for you. Ours was!
