Calling all aspiring student journalists! Applications are due 11:59 pm on Wednesday, September 23.

‘Tis club recruitment season! Whether you’re interested in writing, editing, drawing, website maintaining, eating grapes, or stimming, Bwog has something for you.

We’re looking for new Staff Writers, Daily Editors, Illustrators, Bureau Chiefs, and Tech Staff. You are very welcome (and allowed) to apply for more than one role.

General instructions for the applications:

• Respond to all questions on the application.
• There is no maximum or minimum length for responses.
• Email editors@bwog.com with an attached PDF of your application by Wednesday, September 23 at 11:59 pm EST. Please include your name in some form at the beginning of the file name (ex: Roaree_Daily_App).

Staff Writer Application

Write for Bwog! As a Staff Writer, you can write about anything and everything related to Columbia—check out some of our posts! Staff Writers are expected to write at least seven articles their first semester. Bwog Staff Writers applications are open to any undergraduate.

Daily Editor Application

Edit for Bwog! Daily Editors are responsible for copy editing and publishing all articles one day per week, as well as for writing Bwoglines! Although there is no minimum post requirement for Dailies, you’re also more than welcome to pitch articles and cover campus events and news. Bwog Daily Editor applications are open to any undergraduate.

Bureau Chief Application

Bureau Chiefs report student government coverage for Bwog. There are four Bwog Bureau Chiefs, and they complete coverage for one undergraduate student government organization (CCSC, ESC, GSSC, and SGA). Bureau Chiefs are also more than welcome to pitch articles and cover campus events and news! Bwog Bureau Chief applications are open to any undergraduate. 

Illustrator Application

Draw and create visuals for Bwog! As a Bwog Illustrator, you’d get to work with our wonderful Visual Team to create visuals for our site by request and voluntarily! Bwog Illustrator applications are open to any undergraduate.

Tech Team Application

Code for Bwog! As a member of Bwog’s Tech Team, you would help with web development and management to help keep our wonderful site running. Tech Team applications are open to any undergraduate.
