See how Bwog made the most of their week in this edition of field notes!

Bwog saw some things:

  • Saw The Book of Mormon on Broadway!
  • Saw Bid Me Run!
  • Saw the escaped Central Park Zoo owl on a run!
  • Watched Mama Mia on the lawns with some very dear friends.
  • Saw my mom. She came on a last-minute visit and we had so much fun.

Bwog prepared for the inevitable (finals):

  • Was very productive while simultaneously somewhat maintaining my mental sanity which was very relieving.
  • Was amazingly productive and wrote a 6-page paper and a 10-page paper in 3 days. Very proud of myself.
  • Actually felt pretty calm and peaceful all weekend regarding schoolwork, etc. This will not last.
  • Wrote some bullshit, but my professors liked it.
  • Screamed and sobbed over a paper only to have the deadline extended (it’s still not done).
  • Spent 8 hours in Butler working on this paper.
  • Started the final paper writing hell.
  • Woke up at 8:30 am to go to Butler on a Saturday because I hate myself.

Bwog protected its peace by getting off campus:

  • Went to the Cloisters for my health.
  • Went to the Brooklyn Botanical Garden for peak cherry blossom bloom. Idyllic.
  • Visited Little Island with my parents.
  • Went to the Brooklyn Bridge during sunset and it was perfection.
  • Went on a run for the first time since freshman year. It was glorious.
  • Explored the Upper East Side in search of good Thai food.
  • Finally went to the Cloisters in the season to visit the gardens!! So whimsical and beautiful

Bwog partied:

  • Went to Mel’s and Amity in the same week, and felt like I was living the Columbia experience to the fullest
  • Got very very wine drunk.
  • Day drank. Always a bad idea.
  • Went to my friend’s brother’s 23rd birthday party on Earth Day.
  • Went to a lovely birthday party.
