Tas shouts out Professor Loetscher and the multilingual iPad at K-town karaoke spots.

Name, School, Major, Hometown: Tasnim “Tas” Azman, CC, East Asian Studies, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Claim to fame: Hosting game night every Monday night in my Woodbridge dorm.

Where are you going? Not quite ready for full adulting yet, so I’m going to be at Teachers College to get my Master’s in Education.

What are 3 things you learned at Columbia and would like to share with the Class of 2027?

That essay will get done, the food in Chinatown Flushing is unmatched, and the multilingual iPad at the karaoke spots in K-town is easier to use than you might think.

“Back in my day…” JJ’s was still 22/7.

Favorite Columbia controversy? The sundial shitter.

What was your favorite class at Columbia? Japanese with Prof. Kyoko Loetscher. I love her so much that I decided to take it for four semesters (Third and Fourth Year) straight. She’s made me cry out of gratitude and love on multiple occassions.

Whom would you like to thank? My parents, my a cappella group (Clefhangers <3), my friends, the EALAC department, and my siblings.

One thing to do before graduating: Be friends with the front desk officer in your dorm! They’ve got the best stories and are such wonderful people.

Any regrets? Not having met some people earlier in my college career. I’ve met and started hanging out with a lot of really cool people in the past two months, but now that I’m graduating, I can’t help but feel a little sad that I hadn’t met them earlier. Although I must say that I’m grateful to have met and spent time with them at all. <3
