Happening in the World: Thousands of Gazans have broken into aid supplies to take wheat, flour, and other items from UN warehouses in the central and southern areas of the territory. After almost all communication was broken off, with internet and phone lines down, many are desperate as the ground invasion has started. (BBC)
Happening in the US: Former Vice President Mike Pence has dropped out of the 2024 election. In his announcement, which occurred at the end of a speech in front of Republican donors, he called for a return to conservative values. While other Republican candidates issued statements praising Pence, Donald Trump referred to him as a “traitor.” (New York Times)
Happening in NYC: After the sunshine on Saturday, New York faces its eighth weekend of rain today. There are no flood warnings, but a quarter to half an inch of precipitation is expected. (Gothamist)
