Teachers College Faculty Biennial

  • Members of the Art & Art Education faculty at Teachers College are showcased in this biennial celebrating their artwork. The exhibition runs until December 5. 

Ballroom Has Something To Say: An Ode to Black Gay/Queer Men

  • Wednesday, December 4, 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm, James Chapel (Union Theological Seminary)
  • This production by Icon Founder Michael Roberson Maison-Margiela ’13 explores the intergenerational history of the Black LGBTQ+ house ballroom community, beyond Madonna’s vogue, Paris is Burning, Pose, and Legendary.” 

CU Wind Ensemble Fall Concert

  • Wednesday, December 4, 8:30 pm, Roone Auditorium (Lerner Hall)
  • Columbia’s Wind Ensemble, which consists of woodwind, brass and percussion players, will host their fall concert. This will feature an eclectic repertoire chosen entirely by the students, including works by Gustav Holst, Catherine Likhuta, Samuel Hazo, Arturo Márquez, and David Maslanka.

MeMoSa: The Essence & The Choice by Matty Davis

  • Thursday, December 5, 6 to 7 pm, Movement Lab
  • The Movement Lab’s artist-in-residence, Matty Davis, will present a work-in-progress showing from his new work, “The Essence & The Choice.” The work “intricately braids live performance, photography, and writing, and explores fatherhood, trust, and the impacts of our presence in (and absence from) one another’s lives.”

Columbia Ballet Collaborative’s Fall 2024 Gala

  • Saturday, December 7, 2 pm and 7:30 pm, Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater
  • Columbia Ballet Collaborative, Columbia’s ballet group dedicated to commissioning new contemporary ballet works, presents their Fall Gala. This semester’s choreographers are Da’ Von Doane, Keerati Jinakunwiphat, Margaret Wiss, Nicholas Ranauro, and Columbia student Elizabeth Hasapis (CC ‘25). 

OrCARsis – Orchesis Fall 2024 Show

  • Saturday, December 7, 6:30 pm and 9:15 pm, Roone Auditorium (Lerner Hall)
  • Orchesis presents their Fall 2024 showcase, themed OrCARSis. Orchesis is Columbia’s largest dance group, and casts every dancer who auditions. It uplifts student choreographers. 

XMAS! 19 

  • Sunday, December 8, 2 pm and 7 pm, and Monday, December 9, 7 pm
  • XMAS! Columbia is an annual tradition where Barnumbia students write and perform a silly, non-denominational holiday musical.
