According to an email sent out by Dean Grinage today, Barnard’s 2022 Commencement will be held at Radio City Music Hall.

Dean Grinage announced the location and time of the Barnard College 2022 commencement ceremony in an email to Barnard Class of 2022 students today. 

The ceremony will be held in person on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at 4 pm at Radio City Music Hall. Registration as well as “health and safety protocols” are required for all guests, and the Commencement speaker and medalists will be announced during the spring semester. Columbia University’s commencement ceremony will be held that morning at 10 am on Columbia’s campus. 

Dean Grinage noted that Barnard is working to create a “memorable” ceremony and that they are “glad to be able to be back” at Radio City Music Hall. Further details of the ceremony will be posted on the Barnard Commencement 2022 webpage as they become available, including masking policies. Students who have questions are encouraged to email commencement@barnard.edu. Bwog is made inquires to Barnard regarding specific mask policies and precise dates of when more information will become available, and a Barnard spokesperson provided the following statement.

Radio City Music Hall currently requires attendees to provide proof of vaccination as per the Key to NYC Pass Executive Order and the College plans to provide more information about health and safety protocols in the coming months (with updates posted to https://barnard.edu/commencement). At this time, it is too early to outline specific requirements. We expect that students will be able to invite a limited number of guests to Barnard Commencement 2022.

Dear Barnard Class of 2022,

We are delighted to announce that Barnard College Commencement 2022 will be held in person on Wednesday, May 18, at 4 p.m. at Radio City Music Hall in midtown Manhattan. The Columbia University Commencement will be held the morning of Wednesday, May 18 at 10:30 a.m. on Columbia’s campus.

Commencement marks your tremendous achievements, which are even more notable given this extraordinary time. We are working hard to plan a memorable event and are so glad to be able to be back at Radio City, a beautiful and iconic venue. Registration will be required along with health and safety protocols for all guests. We will announce our Commencement speaker, as well as the medalists being honored during the ceremony, in the spring semester.
