Happening in the US: Virginia Thomas, the wife of Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, reportedly sent dozens of texts to White House staff pressuring them to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election. The messages, turned over by White House adviser Mark Meadows to a committee investigating the January 6 riot, showed Virginia Thomas urging Meadows not to concede. (BBC)
Happening in NYC: At a fundraiser on Friday, Mayor Eric Adams announced that the city will begin removing homeless encampments from the streets. Adams specified that NYPD would partner with social workers and other local agencies to provide the encampment residents with homeless outreach services before dismantling their shelters. (Gothamist)
