Go to museums for free while you still can.
Name, School, Major, Hometown: Shea, Columbia College, Creative Writing/History, Peru IL
Claim to fame: having some of the craziest family lore in my friend group
Where are you going? Working at a law firm here in NYC!
What are three things you learned at Columbia and would like to share with the Class of 2030?
I learned how to accept criticism and failure (realizing that these are normal parts of life and that, at Columbia, you will always be around others doing different things and doing better from time to time); how to better communicate with friends and family (being honest and open when feeling upset or uncomfortable); and how to know when to say enough is enough (sometimes you know you can do more, but it would be better to not do it)!
“Back in my day…” The gates were open to everyone all the time (which I imagine at least three other people will say)!
What was your favorite class at Columbia? Queer Harlem with Dr. Maleda Belilgne at Barnard!
Whom would you like to thank? My dad, my friends, and my car for braving the 5,000 mile roadtrips we kept putting it through before it got totaled.
One thing to do before graduating? Go to a bunch of museums for free!
Any regrets? Oddly enough, not joining the theatre community earlier! I love so many people in theatre here and wish I got to know more people when I was a freshman and sophomore.
