Concert on the Steps, disclosed
People who know about these things most likely already know this, but for those who don’t follow obscure music blogs: Saturday’s Concert (2:00 PM, Low plaza) will be headlined by none other than Clipse, just back from a European tour and off the next day to the west coast. Not Kanye–or even Ghostface–but really, who is?
P.S. (update 11:05 AM): Opening for Clipse will be Columbia grads Vampire Weekend, those up-and-comers who’ve been getting press all over the place (even though we got to ‘em first).

both Kanye and Ghostface came for the larger spring concerts, not the NSOP show.
I’m pumped.
also, wtf is up with shoshana?
what? you’re tripping if you don’t think clipse make better hip-hop than kanye or ghostface right now.
agreed! clipse (and the We Got It for Cheap mixtape series) is some of the best hip hop out right now. Though their new album is kind of eh, I couldn’t be more excited.
clipse are much better than ghostface these days. and their lyrics are also much better than kanye’s.
but I thought the lunar eclipse was a few days ago…
are the same ones who have been posting all of the offensive comments lately. FYI.
I REALLY FUCKING HATE BEING FUCKING CENSORED FOR THIS, CONGRATULATIONS YOU GODDAMN HYPOCRITICAL LIBERALS, CENSORING COMMENTS. Wahh wahh wahh wahh, somebody’s feelings might get hurt. ooooh!
Clipse is fire. Ye is a lot of hype – though he did perform nicely here.
when was the last non-hip-hop performance?
last year. fall. the hold steady.
and wbar puts on shows with a fantastic mix of artists regularly, for cheap ($3 for CU/BC to see acts like fujiya & miyagi). so there are plenty of great non-hip-hop shows all the time.
it’s actually refreshing to get a big hip-hop show once a semester or so.
there are two non hip hop performances tonight at ellis island. seems like not many people know there is actually a concert there.
the only people going to said show are the International students.
Also, one of those performers is Reni Laine, so I don’t think that counts.
ba-zing
not only hold steady, but spinto band opened. yo la tengo two years ago.
they might be giants are coming in october though.
to that comment about Reni Laine
isn’t it almost equally silly to use such broad strokes as to refer to people from Connecticut as having “no identity”? Or does your culture only count if you’re not white?
it could be the same spammer on two different computers. but i don’t think they’re the same; shoshana is a lot angrier.
