Last year’s giant pumpkin with its two sons and their weird squash cousins.

Come support the local farmers and eat delicious food! The Columbia market is open year-round on Sundays and Thursdays and as always, accepts credit, debit, and EBT. Here’s some additional information on this week’s farmer’s market bonanza:

  • On Sunday you can stop by to drop your food scraps (for compost) and textiles (for recycling). Hooray for the environment!
  • New York Magazine has confirmed something we knew every fall. Epic Meal Time is probably angry, but the Columbia Greenmarket has tons of events to celebrate the pumpkinness.
  • A giant pumpkin will be at the Market Information Table on Sunday; be sure to stop by to guess its weight. It won’t be offended, and closest guess gets a bag of market goodies.
  • Since it’s Halloween, the market is having pumpkin decoration on Sunday to celebrate. Buy a pumpkin from any farmer, bring it to the Market Information Table, and decorate it for free between 11AM and 1PM.
