MoHi’s own Oscars

Barnard’s famed Athena Film Festival returns this Thursday for its fifth year with a luring lineup of films, documentaries, panels, and award nominees. As the lucky Columbia/Barnard students we are, we’ve been blessed with the college student budget-conscious price of $20 for an All-Access Pass to the entirety of the weekend’s events; or, if you’re feeling choosy, you can get $5 tickets to individual events. Bwog has selected some of the clear standout options for you to go ahead and add to your calendar:

Dear White People: Saturday, 2 pm

Difret: Sunday, 6 pm (feature, then Q&A with director and producer afterwards)

Reimagining Gender Diversity: Saturday, 3 pm (panel with three females who get things done in the film industry)

Rosie O’Donnell: A Heartfelt Stand Up: Saturday, 4:30 pm (feature, then special appearance by Rosie O’Donnell herself)

We Are The Best!: Friday, 9 pm

#ChicagoGirl: The Social Network Takes On A Dictator: Saturday, 12 pm (feature, then documentary subject to join audience)

Barnard In The Biz: Friday, 4 pm (panel with three Barnard alumnae who have established themselves in the film industry)

The Awards Ceremony (Saturday, 6 pm) is invite-only but is the event bringing Jodie Foster to our campus – if you get a quality shot of the Academy Award-winning actress on Broadway, go beyond your Snap Story and share it with tips@bwog.com, too.
