    actually I'm glad there's someone reminding americans about the brutal war and occupation of the philippines they perpetrated for nearly half a century. it was the original viet-raq.

      Meh, we should've left your asses to the Spaniards or the Japanese. They were way better, I'm sure.



      Anyway, the Philippines was in no way ready govern itself in 1898. The U.S. definitely improved the infrastructure of the Philippines in order to make it more self-sufficient.

        Yeah, infrastructure was totally worth killing 200,000 people. And it was motivated entirely by our benevolent desire to lift the Filipinos out of Spanish colonial servitude, and not at all by our desire to make a shitload of money.
