This is how the dinosaurs died.

According to a new study asteroid strikes capable of busting windows in a thousand foot radius are likely to happen once or twice a decade now.  The last one happened in February. (NYT)

Twitter has its IPO today, and despite having racked up hundreds of millions in losses in the last few years, investors are pretty darn excited and is poised for explosive growth! (NYT)

Paleontologists in Utah have discovered a a giant tyrant dinosaur that predates the Tyrannosaurus Rex by about 10 million years.  The badass name, Lythronax argestes, is a compound of “king of gore” and argestes, a reference to the southwest wind in The Odyssey. Too bad about that giant asteroid explosion, man. (Al-Jazeera America)

This news requires some delicacy: A new study by a group of Swiss doctors performing an autopsy on the body of Palestinian Liberation Organization leader Yasser Arafat has concluded that Arafat was poisoned in 2004 with polonium-210, a rare radioactive isotope.  The study does makes no attempt at discovering who killed him or how.
