On Wednesday, Governor Jerry Brown (finally) imposed mandatory water restrictions in California. Brown mandated that each town is to reduce its water usage by 25%. This historical drought has left the Northern Sierra mountain range’s snowpack, the main water source for the state of California, at an all time low of 16% of its average amount. No more watering ornamental grass in California! (CNN)

Ugh, Ben and Jerry’s pulls it in with the clutch again. The company released a charoset-flavored ice cream just in time for passover. It is vanilla based and loaded with apples, walnuts, and cinnamon. Keep it kosher and chow down on some Ben and Jerry’s this weekend. (Huffington Post)

Gary Ross Dahl, the inventor of the pet rock, passed away on March 23 at the age of 78. Dahl coined the idea of the pet rock in 1975, igniting the huge fad. Lonely people all over the world, who are allergic to all pets besides rocks, are grieving. (NBC)
