Happening in the World: Taiwanese voters reject same-sex marriage in a referendum on Saturday. LGBTQ community and allies were hoping for Taiwan to be the first place in Asia to allow same-sex unions. Majority voted yes on question, “Do you agree that Civil Code regulations should restrict marriage to being between a man and a woman?” The community remains hopeful that there will be support, love, and equality for all.

Happening in the US: A powerful snowstorm blanketed much of the Midwest, cancelling flights, closing schools, and closing highways and several states. More than 1,200 flights within, into, or out of the U.S. were cancelled on Sunday, one of the busiest travel days of the year. More then 340 flights due to depart from Chicago’s O’Hare Airport were cancelled Monday morning.

Happening in New York City: If you have been following the news lately, you should know about the infamous Mandarin Duck. The Mandarin Duck is a rare duck that was spotted in Central Park in early October. However, the duck disappears for extended amounts of time. The latest development finds that the Mandarin Duck actually disappears to New Jersey in its extensive time away from Central Park. Places it frequents includes Edgewater and North Bergen.

Happening on Campus: The Barnard Majors Fair is happening in the Diana Event Oval from 5PM to 7PM on Tuesday, November 27th. The fair is geared towards underclassmen who want to speak to upperclassmen in each department to talk about their track, their experience with the major, and make connections in the field.
