Happening in the World: Members file through the Capitol early Tuesday to see the coffin holding late president George W. Bush, who passed away late Friday at his home in Houston after a battle with Vascular Parkinsonism. On Monday, Bush was eulogized at a ceremony in the Capitol.

Happening in the US: A top European legal adviser said that the British government can unilaterally halt the Brexit process, delivering a significant boost to campaigners who want the UK to remain in the EU. This means that the UK can make the decision without the consent of other Member States, putting the decision in the hands of the UK’s own elected representatives.

Happening in New York City: All participating “Santas” for SantaCon this upcoming weekend will not be able to drink on many forms of public transport as all beverages, in any type of container, open or closed, will be permitted on trains, buses or light rail vehicles during this time. LIRR and Metro-North will be imposing a 24-hour ban on alcohol starting Saturday, December 8th at noon.

Happening On Campus: On Friday, December 7th, there will be a study break at the innovation space of the Science & Engineering Library with trained therapy dogs for students to interact with. This semesterly event will take place at 10AM-11AM this year, so set your alarms and get ready!
