Hold up, important advice ahead.
Name, School, Major, Hometown: Loie Plautz, Barnard, English with a concentration in Film, San Francisco
Claim to fame: I’m the artist known as TrashKing––keep your eyes peeled for iconic TrashKing stickers around campus (mostly on the laptops and water bottles of Barnard queers)
Where are you going? Far, far away to 109th St
What are 3 things you learned at Columbia and would like to share with the Class of 2023?
1. You’ll never be able to do every single reading and assignment for every class all the time. Prioritize what interests you and put your effort into that.
2. Tend to your friendships. Take care of each other. This place can be nuts and you need other people to survive.
3. Eat vegetables… and no, pizza doesn’t count as a vegetable. But also eat a lot of pizza – Famiglia > Koronet.
“Back in my day…” Barnard Late Night was in Hewitt dining hall and it was all-you-can-eat. Under the fluorescent lights, it was a surreal mix of night owl studiers and people stoned out of their gourds.
Favorite Columbia controversy? MILSTEIN SECOND FLOOR IS A COLLABORATIVE WORK SPACE SO PEOPLE ARE ALLOWED TO TALK
Justify your existence in 30 words or fewer: I’m hot, cool, AND funny. Also, I brought sunscreen.
What was your favorite class at Columbia? Writing for Television.
Would you rather give up oral sex or cheese? Cheese––make sure the ladies hear that. ;)
Whom would you like to thank? Control Top Improv and Chowdah Sketch Comedy – thanks for all the laffs, much love.
One thing to do before graduating: Subway Party – but bring a towel so you aren’t freezing after you run butt-naked into the ocean.
Any regrets? Being in long-distance relationship for my first year. FIRST-YEARS: BREAK UP WITH THEM. GO HAVE FUN IN COLLEGE.
