This Bwog Staffer is locked in a perpetual battle with being locked out of their Plimpton suite.

Look. There’s a learning curve to everything. And I’ve never been gifted with keys and locks. But it can’t just be my foolishness that has led me to get locked out of my Plimpton suite twice in almost as many days. Twice have I felt the sinking feeling of trying to get back in only to be greeted with a stiff door handle. Sure, the time I left my keys in my room is completely on me. But the second time, my room and suite door locked behind me for seemingly no reason but just to spite me, even though I could have sworn that they were in the unlocked configuration. I can only wonder if there’s a ghost in my suite that delights in me having to traipse down the stairs to confess my scatterbrainedness to the desk attendant. (PS – thank you to the desk attendants who have lent me spare keys despite the tomfoolery of me and the doors.)

So current residents, take some time to actually figure out how your door locking mechanism works and remember to always bring your keys. Barnard, please consider getting a system that allows tenants to unlock their rooms with their IDs. And I guess I’ll just tattoo my keys into my skin or something?
