Yesterday we told you about why you should be a daily editor, and today we’ll tell you why should become a staff writer.

While daily editors keep us running like a well-oiled machine, it is the humble staff writer who in fact forms the backbone of Bwog’s vast media empire. Each writer is like the glacial headwaters of a stream of content, and gathered in legions these streams join together to form the mighty river of serious news, comedic articles, and absurdist nonsense that we pour forth into the digital sea.

The staff writer’s role is simply to attend weekly meetings in Lerner, write at least ten articles per semester (or more, if you’re feeling yourself), and contribute our creative discussions in Slack and on email. We don’t divy our writers up into specific departments focusing on particular types of content– you can write pretty much whatever you want (though if you want to focus on a certain area, feel free to email an editor).

To become a staff writer (which, again, you totally should!), just fill out the application below and email it to board@bwog.com by 11:59 PM on Friday, September 13th in a PDF titled “[your first name] app”. For more information, come to our open meeting on Sunday, September 8th (aka tomorrow) at 9 PM in Lerner 510!
