Who knew human laws applied to mythic beasts!

Happening in the World: Jacinda Ardern, New Zealand’s Prime Minister, announced that the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny have been added to the list of essential workers, although they may face delays in reaching some houses since they are “quite busy at home with their family as well and their own bunnies.” As of Monday, New Zealand has only one death and 1,106 cases of the coronavirus. Happening in the US: Emergency public health orders from the CDC have allowed officials to override immigration laws, resulting in over 6,300 undocumented migrants expelled from the US-Mexico border. The order was in an effort to reduce crowding at border patrol stations or points of entry, and from this order or otherwise, interactions at the border have dropped significantly. (BBC)

Happening in NY: MTA workers claim the agency has not done enough to protect them against coronavirus, for although the MTA ordered masks and other protective supplies for their workers, this response was delayed and supplies have been “mishandled” along the way. Less available employees has the MTA reducing services, but this is causing crowding on the available subways, adding to dangerous conditions for workers. (NBC)

Poem: Read this whimsically bizarre love poem by New York School poet Kenneth Koch!
