Happening in the World: India began rolling out the largest vaccination effort in the world, thus far. They plan to vaccinate 300 million people initially, consisting of healthcare workers, front-line workers, and, notably, 26 million infants. This will be followed by another group of 270 million people, categorized by being 50 years or older and/or being immunocompromised. (NYT)
Happening in the US: California will experience a high-wind event tonight, with gusts up to 60 or 70 miles per hour in some areas. These strong winds may lead to fire risk, as drought and dry fuel have accumulated within the southern California region prior to these anticipated winds. (CBS)
